Speaking Engagements 2025 National Symposium on Children’s Grief June 4-6, 2025 Crystal Wortham, MSW, LCSW, Samantha Anthony, MS, LPC, and Sam Middleton, MS attended and presented at the National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG) 28th annual symposium in Kansas City, Missouri. Crystal participated in NACG's 2025 Research & Evaluation Panel, themed The Power of Research & Practice Partnerships, which shared how researchers and practitioners collaborate to help move the childhood bereavement field forward through translational, community-based research, and will include practical examples of how to overcome barriers and how to form successful research-practice partnerships. Samantha and Sam presented Childhood Grief in Context: Navigating Social Systems and Disenfranchised Grief. This presentation looked at grief through a social systems lens, including disenfranchised grief, where individuals feel their grief is not acknowledged or supported. Supporting Grieving Youth and the Adults Who Care for Them: An Exploration March 26, 2025 Samantha Anthony, MS, LPC, CJ Roseberry, MSW, LSW, and Darcie Rudolf, MA, LPC, NCC discussed how grief care for caregivers is necessary when supporting grieving children. They also proposed a model of caregiver grief care that considers the symbiotic relationship between grief and social systems. Uplift’s clinicians share their expertise with professionals, volunteers, and youth bereavement advocates as panelists and presenters at speaking engagements.
